Our General Counsel and Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer, James Thompson, leads the Global Ethics & Compliance function. He provides reports on Ethics & Compliance to the Board of Directors, the Audit Committee and the Executive Committee.
Our entire senior management also champions the Global Ethics & Compliance Program. Senior management advises the Global Ethics & Compliance Program as members of Avon’s Global Ethics & Compliance Committee, supporting the Ethics & Compliance Program’s implementation in their areas, including through messages in compliance materials and leadership sessions.
Our Ethics & Compliance team of lawyers and compliance professionals has worldwide coverage with personnel in all of our Regions and in many of our markets.
Avon reinforces business ethics by training Associates. Training and communications help to maintain our culture of integrity and compliance with the law and the Code of Conduct. Training is offered in a variety of formats, including in-person and online.
In-person training on Ethics & Compliance topics, including real-life scenarios, guest speakers and analysis of challenging hypothetical situations is conducted regularly in markets around the world.
Avon's online courses exist in 20 languages, and they highlight topics of importance in our Code of Conduct, including Anti-Corruption, Data Privacy, Antitrust and Competition, Conflicts of Interest and Records Retention.
